Instructions for gathering samples

Manure samples should be gathered rectally or from the top portion of the fecal pile, recently excreted (should not have contact with the ground) in a plastic glove that should be turned inside out and closed with a knot. Label the bag with the name of the animal and make another knot so it won’t get lost and will be protected from the humidity. The sample should arrive to the laboratory in 24 hours or less and should be kept cold.

Selective control

Option 1: Collect the manure balls from identified animals every three months before worming.

Option 2: Take samples from 10% from animals in groups, in this case identification of the group is the only requirement. (foals and mares for examples)

We provide a report for each sample for the veterinarian on the farm with the recommended options for optimal parasite control.
