Cavalor® WholeGain is an energy-rich feed concentrate for horses needing to gain weight. It is mainly used to increase physical condition in underweight horses, prior to competition or to maintain optimal condition of sale horses. Shinny coat, weight gainer, ration balancer.

Research has shown that diets high in fat can improve athletic performance, coat condition, and the general well being of the horse. Adding CAVALOR WholeGain into a feeding program can allow those horses to achieve similar results.

CAVALOR WholeGain contains a specific blend of oils which creates a beneficial ratio of omega 3 and omega 6 fatty acids. A high proportion of omega 3 fatty acids can improve immunity, reduce inflammation, and improve energy utilization, promote a shiny coat and a better feed conversion (more energy from fewer pounds of feed), reduce muscle stiffness and liver or digestive problems.

The high oil in CAVALOR WholeGain contains twice as many calories per gram than starch or protein. Fat is a safer solution for weight gain since it does no cause undue systemic stress, such as kidney issues seen with protein-based feeds or muscle and gastrointestinal problems correlated to high starch rations.

This is why we use a blend of high quality, whole-food oil sources such as flaxseeds and rice bran along with our signature puffed grains to create a nutritionally-balanced, high fat mixture. We refuse to rely on generic vegetable oils.

OMEGA 3’S & OMEGA 6’S

Both omega fatty acids are types of unsaturated fats and are crucial for general well-being and health.

It is important, though, that horses receive the proper ratio of omega 3’s and omega 6’s to ensure good coat quality, proper immune function, and improve performance. Forages such as high quality hay and grass are naturally high in omega 3 fatty acids and very low in omega 6 fatty acids. In contrast, grains are high in omega 6 fatty acids. When this ratio is off, it can lead to issues involving the skin, heart, and athletic recovery. By using oils with a relatively high omega 3:6 ratio, such as flaxseeds, linseeds , rapeseed and Soya, Cavalor® creates a product that helps keep your horse healthy and shiny from the inside out.

HEALTHY FATS ADD WEIGHT AND CONDITION 

The easiest way to improve a horse's body condition, coat quality, and overall appearance is to add healthy fat to the diet. WholeGain is 20.5% fat safely adding weight without excess energy. Fat is a safer solution for weight gain since it does not cause undue systemic stress, such as kid­ney issues seen with protein-based feeds or muscle and gastrointestinal problems correlated to high starch rations. High fat diets have also been shown to decrease heat stress and improve endurance in equine athletes.

STRENGTHEN RESISTANCE AND IMMUNITY

High amounts of Omega 3 fatty acids improve immune sys­tem function and protect against the effects of inflammatory diseases such as arthritis and chronic skin issues. The ome­ga 3-containing oils used counter the modern, pro-inflamma­tory diet commonly fed to the average horse.

IMPROVE GUT HEALTH AND DIGESTION

A healthy gut is critical to the success of any nutritional pro­gram.
