Pianissimo is specially formulated for horses and ponies prone to stress or horses that are hard to handle. Pianissimo contains herbs and other elements that counteract excessive sensitivity. In addition it contains all the nutritional components for a complete and balanced feed for sport horses. It is also highly suitable for horses at rest.
To reduce the level of energy ingested, these horses are usually given less feed concentrate and more roughage. However, this tends to result in a nutritional imbalance. Cavalor Pianissimo has a very low protein content: (7,85 % digestible protein horse). This makes it very suitable for use in addition to roughage that is very rich in proteins (like silage or spring grass).
With its low protein content, Cavalor Pianissimo is an excellent feed for horses cutting down on training after a season, horses that are temporarily at rest (for recovery) and horses that are sensitive to high levels of protein and given pre-dried grass as roughage.
In addition, Cavalor Pianissimo is enriched with omega 3; this supports the general fitness of the horse. Florastimul also ensures the efficient absorption of all nutrients and promotes healthy digestion.
Reduced energy formula. Pianissimo is formulated to be a lower energy feed, with lower protein and no oats, which supports focus in hot horses. The mineral and amino acid additives provide a focused, well-centered horse.
Low protein. Protein fed in excess of daily requirements cannot be stored in the horse's body. Horses convert protein into muscle mass by eating adequate protein and exercising. If protein synthesis occurs at the maximum rate, the unused amino acids are broken down and excreted.
Balanced vitamins and minerals supply. Not only do we use a balanced blend of high quality vitamins and minerals, but we are always careful to use the most stable versions. While the vitamins we use are always in the most stable form, the minerals we use are always in the most absorbable form.
Oat free. Oats have long been recognized as a source of energy for the horse in work, but for the horse prone to being hot or stressed, a high energy grain with oats can increase his energy and stress levels. An oat free grain can lower his energy level.
Pro-Yeast. Horses today are fed large amounts of feed concentrates, particularly sports horse and mares that are in foal or lactating. Their bodies need help processing them. It is mainly in the small intestine that grains are converted from starch into glucose. When at every meal more grains are fed than the small intestine is capable of digesting, this step is passed on to the large intestine. Inside the large intestine, the acid value (pH) subsequently drops (acidification), causing the micro-organisms to become less active and causing poorer digestion. Active yeast cultures are the solution for this problem, as they stimulate healthy bacteria inside the large intestine and hinder malignant bacteria (streptococci). This prevents acidification (pH drop), which allows the micro flora to operate properly. Pro-Yeast provides optimal digestion of crude fiber, intake of minerals, production of B-vitamins, an effective yield of the total feed and, of utmost importance, a reduced risk of colic.
Omega-3 fatty acids not only benefit man but are just as beneficial for horses. In addition to a glossy coat, omega-3 fatty acids offer a wide number of healthful effects. Omega-3 fatty acids are immunity stimulants; serve as inflammation inhibitors; prevent the blood from clotting while prompting improved blood circulation and act as a defense against a host of allergies. This unique fatty acid composition supports the general condition and health of the horse.
