THE ULTIMATE FIBER MIX – THE OPTIMAL GUT IMPROVER
Cavalor® FiberForce is a high-fiber, low starch feed likely suitable for horses with gastrointestinal disturbances.
Cavalor® FiberForce contains a mix of key fiber sources in a chaff format as well as specially designed extruded fiber pellets containing vitamins, minerals and extra boost of fiber The formula has a very low level of sugar (3%) and starch (5%) in comparison to other complete horse feeds in the market.
The total sugar and starch content is lower than most standard types of hay. Due to the low starch level, high-fiber and high oil content, Cavalor®FiberForce can be extremely beneficial for horses experiencing muscle issues.
Key Features. Healthy from the inside:
o Stomach ulcers
o Stomach and intestinal disorders
o Insulin resistance
o Laminitis
Safe for your special needs horse: The low levels of sugar (3%) and starch (5%) in FiberForce avoid the quick absorption of sugars in the small intestine, preventing rapid spikes in blood sugar known to aggravate existing metabolic disorders. This feed is designed to release evenly and slowly throughout the day to help reduce bursts of insulin in the blood, making it safe for horses prone to laminitis, ulcers, tying-up, equine polysaccharide storage myopathy (PSSM) or other muscle disorders.
Energy from fats: Horses performing aerobic activity use oxygen to draw energy from fat sources. Fat is an important component for the diet of a horse performing in any endurance sport. It's important to provide the proper amounts of fat in the horse's diet, as research indicates there is little difference between the effectiveness of a diet with 7-8% fat or many of the high fat formulas currently available.
Alfalfa stems: The stems of alfalfa are high fiber and can help reduce the acidity in the stomach. The long stems encourage horses to chew, which helps them produce more saliva. Saliva helps buffer acid production in the stomach. Long fibers also help slow the passage of feed through the digestive tract.
Nutraceuticals:
Florastimul. The gastrointestinal tract is one of the most sensitive and at the same time largest organs of the horse. A healthy digestive system sees to it that the ingestion of nutrients proceeds smoothly while reducing the risk of colic. This is achieved through proper ration management, which means feeding the horse sufficient amounts of roughage (crude fiber) and nutritional elements that stimulate the way health-promoting micro-organisms operate inside the large intestine. Florastimul (a prebiotic) is a nutrient that can only be used by benign bacteria and stimulates their growth and development. Moreover, Florastimul prevents adhesion to the intestinal wall and inhibits the growth of pathogenic bacteria. As such, Florastimul supports a healthy intestinal flora, making the horse less susceptible to gastrointestinal upsets. Pro-Yeast. Horses today are fed large amounts of feed concentrates, particularly sports horse and mares that are in foal or lactating. Their bodies need help processing them. It is mainly in the small intestine that grains are converted from starch into glucose. When at every meal more grains are fed than the small intestine is capable of digesting, this step is passed on to the large intestine. Inside the large intestine, the acid value (pH) subsequently drops (acidification), causing the micro-organisms to become less active and causing poorer digestion. Active yeast cultures are the solution for this problem, as they stimulate healthy bacteria inside the large intestine and hinder malignant bacteria (streptococci). This prevents acidification (pH drop), which allows the micro flora to operate properly. Pro-Yeast provides optimal digestion of crude fiber, intake of minerals, production of B-vitamins, an effective yield of the total feed and, of utmost importance, a reduced risk of colic.
Omega-3 fatty acids not only benefit man but are just as beneficial for horses. In addition to a glossy coat, omega-3 fatty acids offer a wide number of healthful effects. Omega-3 fatty acids are immunity stimulants; serve as inflammation inhibitors; prevent the blood from clotting while prompting improved blood circulation and act as a defense against a host of allergies. This unique fatty acid composition supports the general condition and health of the horse.
Digest Control, which guarantees low levels of sugar and starch which positively effect bowel function. Due to the low starch level, high-fiber and high oil content, it can be extremely beneficial for horses experiencing muscle issues.
