THE IDEAL MIX FOR ACTIVE COMPETITION HORSES PRACTICING LIGHT WORK

Cavalor® Action Mix is a mix with oats specially formulated for competition horses subject to performing light work (4-8 hours a week). The selection of natural raw materials in Cavalor® Action Mix is specifically tailored to meet the nutritional needs of horses practicing light work while maintaining correct nutrition, high palatability and keeping feeding costs under control.

Cavalor® Action Mix contains FLORASTIMUL, a prebiotic to ensure the health of the intestinal flora.

Key features:

  • Basic sports mixture with oats
  • Ideal entry-level sport feed
  • Balanced
  • Optimal digestion
  • Healthy intestinal flora

Safe Starch levels: Research has proven the safe level of starch for a horse in maintenance is <1.5g/kg of bodyweight per meal (proven safe even up to 2g/kg), and for sport horses the safe starch level is <2.5g/kg of body weight per meal.* Our barley and corn flakes utilize a unique European flaking process to maximize digestibility while maintaining nutritional value.

Added prebiotics: Prebiotics help stabilize digestion and stimulate the growth or activity of bacteria in the digestive system. They help your horse stay healthy whether in a stall, during rigorous training or during competition.

Diverse protein sources: We use a variety of protein sources to create a more complete amino acids profile. There is protein in barley, wheat, corn flakes, oats and more. A broader amino acids profile is better for the horse's digestive system and efficient conversion into energy.

Highest quality ingredients: Cavalor leads the industry in delivering high quality ingredients in a form that ensures high availability to the horse. The large flaked barley and flaked corn are a stable & safe energy source with ample viscosity to even the release from the stomach.

Layer to meet his needs: Each of our feeds have the same foundational elements. We use the same protein, fibre, barley and vitamin & mineral package. Because the foundation of each feed is consistent, you have the ability to layer feeds based on the energy level your horse requires to keep him performing at his best.

Nutraceuticals:

Florastimul. The gastrointestinal tract is one of the most sensitive and at the same time largest organs of the horse. A healthy digestive system sees to it that the ingestion of nutrients proceeds smoothly while reducing the risk of colic. This is achieved through proper ration management, which means feeding the horse sufficient amounts of roughage (crude fiber) and nutritional elements that stimulate the way health-promoting micro-organisms operate inside the large intestine. Florastimul (a prebiotic) is a nutrient that can only be used by benign bacteria and stimulates their growth and development. Moreover, Florastimul prevents adhesion to the intestinal wall and inhibits the growth of pathogenic bacteria. As such, Florastimul supports a healthy intestinal flora, making the horse less susceptible to gastrointestinal upsets.

Pro Energy stands for an optimal supply of energy in the form of nutritional fats and carbohydrates. Fats are the most concentrated energy source in any diet. The energy used by a horse during physical exertion is obtained in different ways. Creatine phosphate supplies directly available energy for very short term exertion (about 60 seconds). This energy, which is soon depleted, needs to be replenished by short-term energy (a matter of minutes). This short-term energy is derived from glycogen located in the muscles. The short-term energy (anaerobic: without oxygen) supplies about 5 percent of the total energy requirements. Carbohydrates are the principal suppliers for this energy type. The longer the exertion lasts, the more the anaerobic effort shifts to an aerobic one in which oxygen converts the fatty acids into energy as the exertion is taking place. This is medium term- and long-term energy. Fats are a source for fatty acids and supply approximately 25 percent of overall energy.
