Juniorix – Cavalor – 20 kg

Mix feed specially formulated for young horses in full development from 1 to 3 years old

Cavalor® Juniorix is specially formulated for young horses from approximately 1 year. During this period in which the foal fully develops, playful yearlings need specific growth-inducing nutritional elements. Those nutrients guarantee the progressive growth of bones, joints and organs.

Cavalor® Juniorix is formulated to support steady and healthy growth, which is crucial to the development of strong and healthy horses.

Key Features:

  • For young horses (1 to 3 years)
  • High levels of organically-bound copper, zinc and manganese
  • High vitamin content for growth
  • Optimal calcium/phosphorus ratio for gradual growth
  • Helps reduce problems with OCD

Designed for young horses 1-3 years old. Young horses need the correct balance of protein, energy and especially minerals. The proper mineral balance will ensure optimal bone and joint development thereby reducing the risk for developmental disorders. Cavalor® Juniorix has an optimal balance of the nutrients needed to support steady growth of the growing horse including protein, energy and especially its minerals.

Steady growth in young horses. Diet plays an essential role to ensure steady energy and nutrients are provided without causing huge peaks and lows. A steady growth curve is essential in young horses to avoid negatively impacting bone and cartilage development. Providing properly balanced energy and nutrients to prevent huge peaks and lows allows for optimal and steady growth. Because growing bone and cartilage are vulnerable during the first years of life, both excess and lack of nutrients can impact proper skeletal development and cause health issues.

Helps reduce risk of OCD problems. It's important to not only have adequate amounts of key minerals, but also the correct ratios. Minerals are highly interactive with each other and one mineral can increase or decrease the availability of the other. A proper mineral balance will ensure optimal bone/joint development and thereby reduce the risk for OCD.

Florastimul. The gastrointestinal tract is one of the most sensitive and at the same time largest organs of the horse. A healthy digestive system sees to it that the ingestion of nutrients proceeds smoothly while reducing the risk of colic. This is achieved through proper ration management, which means feeding the horse sufficient amounts of roughage (crude fiber) and nutritional elements that stimulate the way health-promoting micro-organisms operate inside the large intestine. Florastimul (a prebiotic) is a nutrient that can only be used by benign bacteria and stimulates their growth and development. Moreover, Florastimul prevents adhesion to the intestinal wall and inhibits the growth of pathogenic bacteria. As such, Florastimul supports a healthy intestinal flora, making the horse less susceptible to gastrointestinal upsets.

Artri-Pro. It is a unique copper, zinc and manganese supplement containing each component in optimal proportion. These micronutrients ensure that the joints, tendons, cartilage and skeleton receive a higher level of support than they would from any regular maintenance mixture. These high levels of copper, zinc and manganese are specifically beneficial for younger horses in full growth, older horses, sport horses, mares in foal and lactating mares.

Omega 3. Omega 3 fatty acids not only benefit man but are just as beneficial for horses. In addition to a glossy coat, omega 3 fatty acids offer a wide number of healthful effects. They are immunity stimulants; serve as inflammation inhibitors, and prevent the blood from clotting while prompting improved blood circulation. They also act as a defense against a host of allergies. This unique fatty acid composition supports the general condition of the horse.

Opti Growth, a special element to ensure proper bone, tendon and joint development by supplying the perfect calcium to phosphorus ratio and optimal availability of copper, zinc and manganese. Opti Growth can help reduce issues related to OCD and osteoporosis (porous bones).

Feeding my young horses Juniorix is a bit costly if I want to give them a complete feed. Would it not be better to switch to a less expensive feed?
The quality and concentration of the vitamin premix in Juniorix is such that you only need to feed a limited amount of kilos a day. Feeding more than 3 kilos is surplus, even for 3-year-old horses. Young horses need sufficient amounts of good-quality forage to have good digestion. Supplementing the forage with a limited amount of Juniorix provides the animal with the right amount of nutrients because of the higher concentration of vitamins and minerals. In addition, young horses can do without excess weight, as this constitutes an added strain load on tendons and joints. Juniorix produces a healthy young horse with a glossy coat that can maintain a proper weight.

At what age can I start feeding Juniorix?
Basically, starting from the age of 1, but many breeders like to make a gradual change. It is advisable to mix Juniorix with the horse’s regular feed increasingly over a 1- to 2-month period until the daily ration is completely Juniorix.
