Replenish lost electrolytes. Mash & Mix is perfect to give after your horse works to help him replenish his lost electrolytes. Electrolytes (salt + minerals) are produced by the body but take up to 2-3 days for the horse to naturally replenish. Give electrolytes just before and up to an hour after a heavy effort. Because horses can't store them for later use, they must be used right away.

Herbs to stimulate digestion. Horses are designed to be grazing throughout the day, and because modern horses are sometimes stalled, we must help support their consistent digestion throughout the day. Mash & Mix uses a variety of herbs to stimulate the diges­tive tract and increase the palatability of the Mash.

Highly digestible ingredients. Mash & Mix uses puffed barley and corn. Puffed grains have an improved starch digestibility in the foregut of up to 85- 90%. These grains travel through the stomach and small intestine at a slower rate, allowing the digestive enzymes more time to act on the feed.

Diverse protein sources. We use a variety of protein sources to create a more com­plete amino acids profile. There is protein in barley, wheat, corn flakes, oats and more. A broader amino acids profile is better for the horse's digestive system and conversion into energy.

Nutraceuticals:

Florastimul. The gastrointestinal tract is one of the most sensitive and at the same time largest organs of the horse. A healthy digestive system sees to it that the ingestion of nutrients proceeds smoothly while reducing the risk of colic. This is achieved through proper ration management, which means feeding the horse sufficient amounts of roughage (crude fiber) and nutritional elements that stimulate the way health-promoting micro-organisms operate inside the large intestine. Florastimul (a prebiotic) is a nutrient that can only be used by benign bacteria and stimulates their growth and development. Moreover, Florastimul prevents adhesion to the intestinal wall and inhibits the growth of pathogenic bacteria. As such, Florastimul supports a healthy intestinal flora, making the horse less susceptible to gastrointestinal upsets.

Artri-Pro. It is a unique copper, zinc and manganese supplement containing each component in optimal proportion. These micronutrients ensure that the joints, tendons, cartilage and skeleton receive a higher level of support than they would from any regular maintenance mixture. These high levels of copper, zinc and manganese are specifically beneficial for younger horses in full growth, older horses, sport horses, mares in foal and lactating mares.

Omega 3. Omega 3 fatty acids not only benefit man but are just as beneficial for horses. In addition to a glossy coat, omega 3 fatty acids offer a wide number of healthful effects. They are immunity stimulants; serve as inflammation inhibitors, and prevent the blood from clotting while prompting improved blood circulation. They also act as a defense against a host of allergies. This unique fatty acid composition supports the general condition of the horse.

Mega-Electrolyte. Electrolytes are minerals (sodium, chlorine, calcium, potassium, magnesium, phosphorus, sulfates and bicarbonates) that play a key role in the horse's body in regulating its water balance and acid value. When horses break out in a sweat due to physical exertion or heat, a great number of electrolytes are dissipated through the sweat, disrupting the electrolyte balance. In particular, sodium, potassium and chlorine are dissipated as part of this process. The loss of sodium produces the most significant effect, as sodium is crucial to the body's water balance (absorbing and retaining water). Following the exertion, the electrolytes need to be replenished. Because the horse's body is barely capable of building up a reserve of electrolytes, a fresh daily supply through the feed is imperative. The mega-electrolyte concept is your guarantee that your horse will ingest all of its required ration of electrolytes on a daily basis.

Indications for use:

Daily amount of Cavalor Mash & Mix per animal: maximum 0.3 kg per 100 kg live body weight.

Preparation: mix with 50 % hot water, let the mash absorb the water and cool for 15 minutes.
